MAKORUS has completed the business plan development of the project of the country's first phytosterol production for confidential client from the Northwestern Federal District.

Business plan provides installation of the line to produce a purified phytosterol in volume up to 200 tons per year from sulfate soap. In this project, MAKORUS acts as a technology partner, offering the client the original technology of neutral substances extraction from sulfate soap.

Business plan includes such sections as marketing and sales of phytosterol, main technical and process solutions, environmental impact assessment, estimation of project capital costs, business calculations and project performance indicators, SWOT-analysis and risk assessment of the project, layout of equipment etc.

According to MAKORUS the predicted global volume of phytosterol consumption by 2020 will reach 50 thousand tons (now 30 thousand tons). The main target market for the project will be the EU market, the part of production will be realized on domestic market. As a result of the project start in Russia for the first time commercially the product with beneficial effect on human health, as confirmed by numerous studies in our country and abroad, will be produced. The cost of 1 ton of phytosterol on the market is 18 000 USD.
